The new London store commissioned by BAPE® Founder NIGO®, has been designed by Masamichi Katayama founder of interior design firm Wonderwall, who has extensively built a wide range of pursuits around the world in design including architectural direction, and product design. Wonderwall have collaborated with BAPE® throughout the years on the brands various stores throughout the world. The New York, London & LA Stores are the only retail environments outside of Asia.
The brand new store has been re-built within its former 4 Upper James Street premises to NIGO®’s exacting standards using aluminium, stainless steel, & neon materials to create a spacious retail environment within 750sq ft reflecting the BAPE® aesthetic for clean lines with a certain playfulness.
The shop will stock limited edition basic items such as t-shirts, jeans, and hoodies which constitute the core of A BATHING APE® as a brand with a number of exclusive items only available to purchase in the UK including t-shirts, BAPE® STA & other BAPE® footwear. The main focus will be on all aspects of menswear, including tailored pieces, shirting, watches, ties, socks & underwear.
