Clarks Originals 60th Anniversary Desert Boots Artist Auction
To commemorate the 60th Birthday of Clarks Originals, the company chose to work with the iconic Desert Boot to launch a special auction for the War Child organization, for which artists and illustrators have customized the shoe.
16 Artists, illustrators and personalities from Holland and Belgium were asked to customize the famous Clarks Originals Desert Boot, the famous of the crêpe sole shoe introduced by Nathan Clark. Amongst others DJ and shoe-fetishist Mr. Wix, fashion-illustrator Piet Paris and image-stylist Dyanne Beekman co-operated. These unique and arty Desert Boots will be auctioned from November 30th till December 9th 2009 via www.clarks.nl and www.clarks.be. Full profit will be donated to the charity organization War Child.

Quoddy | Masleet Oxford
The Masleet Oxford by Quoddy is superb in its simplicity. Like all of the Maine-based shoemaker’s products, the Masleet Oxfords are 100% hand-sewn and made of Horween Navy Chromexcel leather. Mated with a red brick sole, the shoes take up to eight weeks to finish. Look for these at a New York Leffot in the near future.

J. Press Creative Director Mark McNairy has collaborated with footwear giant GH Bass & Co. They wanted to recreate the shoemakers classic Weejun penny loafer. The re-creation offers a number of different styles and looks, offering something for everyone along the spectrum of heritage crazed consumers. Available at Barneys soon, ranging from $300.
Unused x Sanders | UH0216 Wingtip Oxford
British footwear maker Sander has created some very distinct wingtip shoes. The contrasting material of the shoe make it one of a kind looking. The suede upper with leather lower wingtip styling gives it a little something different to offer than your average wingtip in style and color. Jil Sander | Spring 2010 Footwear
The simple classic look will always work and Jil Sander is all over it. Their Spring 2010 footwear collection gives that classy yet casual vibe and will be available in many colors. Don’t over look the sandals as well. Even though its a smaller collection, the earthy tones go with quality over quantity. Clarks Originals | 1950’s Desert Boot in Harris Tweed
For the Fall/Winter 09 season, Clarks Originals have released a special 60 year anniversary collection of their most iconic footwear styles. For the 1950’s, the launch year of the Desert Boot, Clarks have created a Harris Tweed version complete with a replica desert boot key ring.
Featuring a full leather lining, a cushioned insole and an official Harris Tweed Certification tag these are definitely a welcome addition to the Desert Boot family. Harris Tweed, which is hand woven in the Outer Hebrides, has become something of a commodity in recent years. It is becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of the more colourful weaves, despite there being over 8,000 original patterns on record. These are a perfect example of the most sought after tweeds in the world. This boot is now available at Good Stead.

DJ Cassidy X Rockport | Boat Shoe
Rockport offered friend and world famous DJ to the stars, DJ Cassidy, the opportunity to design his own pair of the Bridgeport boat shoe. To create the shoe, Cassidy drew inspiration from his musical and fashion influences, notably Run-DMC and Michael Jackson. To pay homage to Run-DMC, Cassidy designed a special elastic component under the tongue so that the boat shoe may be worn comfortably without laces and to celebrate Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” legendary video look, the DJ Cassidy Bridgeport boat shoe is constructed of soft pink perforated leather, a red canvas upper, and a black pinstripe.
In honor of the King Of Pop, Rockport has produced 50 limited edition pairs numbered 150 to commemorate each year of his life. The exclusive shoe comes packaged in a custom DJ Cassidy shoe box complete with pink tissue paper, red satin bow tie and personalized card from Cassidy detailing his inspirations.
