A “Ruff” is an exaggerated collar fashionable from the mid-sixteenth century to the mid-seventeenth century, just like the male bird’s neck ornamental feathers resemble the neckwear. Only the very rich could afford the huge expense in lace, materials and upkeep, in fact, the luxurious clothing represented a person’s social status and specialized challenge. The materials used to make ruffs required specialized tools to keep them pleated. “Roll” means to elapse, pass, or move. Since the fundamental outlines for Expansion Inc.’s clothing has lots of inconspicuous details, such as, using opulent fabric and technique behind the garment, I’ve chose “Ruff and Roll” as the title for my collection to let people knows that this collection portray oneself as belonging to an unnoticeable but well-fixed urban out fit fashion.
