King of Pop | Michael Jackson’s LA Gears
Posted by Greg Weinstein | Filed under Uncategorized

LA Gear was a popular shoe brand that lasted through the 80′s and early 90′s and were pretty much only popular with women. Even though they had a few celebrity endorsers, they never made it to a prominent company. Briefly, they made a Michael Jackson Brand sneaker, with an MJ image on the tongue and MJ stamped on the sole. Unfortunately, LA Gear sued the King of Pop for breach of contract and then MJ counter sued them in 1992. Shortly after, LA Gear went bankrupt. There are very few pairs ever seen to the public, and a signed size 4 was on auction recently and finished around $2,000. We would love to get our hands on a pair. They definitely give off his silver glove, black pants , white socks feel.
We miss you Mike.
