Piotr Woronkowicz | Inspired by Skateboarding

Arists Piotr Woronkowicz here displays some of his new work using skateboarding as the medium. The contrast between the laser etching and the wood grain of the deck make for a warm color scheme, that really works well. It really keeps it in a mono-chromatic feel, showing that less is more. The true beauty in these decks is the detail in the laser etchings. The halftone look is really interesting and appealing, as it gives a semi street-art, wheat paste look. Keeping things in the nature of skateboarding he also created a coffee table/grind box which is functional in the street as well as in the living room. The deck include a series which is a depiction of utopian Sky Scrapers that were never built by (1) Ralph Rudolph, (2) Mies Van der Roche, (3) Frank Lloyd Wright, a nature inspired series, a laser etching of Jesus, and of course the coffee table/grind box. These works can be seen and purchased at 360 Gallery or Piotr Woronkowicz. These are great pieces as we always like to see more things creatively coming out of skateboarding. More to see on the flip.
