Pro-Keds | 2010 Spring Footwear Preview

Following in the footsteps of retro iconic footwear brand PF Flyer and Converse’s Jack Purcell, Pro-Keds have refreshed their Royal and 69’er silhouettes with a more contemporary feel, the sneakers are made with premium leather in several color ways. The Royal Hi and Lo are offered in red, royal blue, green moss, white and black with nice corresponding color accents on the midsole. The 69’er Hi models feature a horizontal stripe pattern on the midsole and round out what we like in this collection. It’s the canvas lo models that gives the collection an immature aesthetic, the stone washed canvas and the bandana patterns are a fail. It was just a few years ago that Hip Hop mogul Damon Dash was at the helm of this brand and reintroduced Pro-Keds with subpar reviews. We’re not sure how many chances Pro-Keds will get before we become uninterested.
