Saks Fifth Avenue | PF Flyers Premiere

In the past 72 years, this will be the first time that the classic sneaker brand PF Flyers will premiere at Saks Fifth Avenue. They will start with their Father’s Day exclusive collection , called The Sporting Life, on June 18th.  It will consist of 6 different models all being limited, exclusive or an original early release. Also within this release will be a limited number of Kids Center Hi models  and select number of limited Celtics’ Bob Cousy autographed cards and t-shirts at the Saks flagship store.

Color Reveal Center Hi - These were originally released in 1953 . However , now they are updated with patent leather and they gradually change color  the more they are worn. This means that each shoe will be unique due to the owner’s shoe-wearing habits. Saks will have 36 pairs of these, with 18 in each color way. The rest will hit stores later in the summer.

Black Vantage -  These are a modern take on the 1940′s era show with the same name. It features original styling for men and women.

Metal Mesh Glides – These are exclusive to Saks retailers.  It also has color revealing patent leather on the toe and the sides of this basketball style re-issue.  The vein like pattern accents these special edition Glides. Originally coming out in 1979, they still feature the padded tongue and metal mesh. They are available in red with color revealing patent leather and in yellow with color revealing patent leather. They should go for $150.

Bob Cousy All-American Low Top -  This basketball low top were worn by the sports first superstar, the Celtics’ Bob Cousy.  It has the patented Gull Wing closure and special model markings. These Saks exclusives are available in grey shimmer canvas with textured italian leather and black silk tie print lining.

Sumfun – Based on comfort, the Sunfun includes an espadrille styled upper and refined foxing details and holds the original PF Flyer traditions.

Sport Shu -The 1940′s PF Flyers Sport Shu was recreated by designers  out of Japan.  It exemplifies Japanese style and precision.  The shoe is only available in black and natural colors only, features contrast stitching , rubber patterned foxing and an original PF logo.
