As expected, T.I. took to the Internet to debut his new single, the appropriately-titled banger “I’m Back.” Coming in the wake of his release from jail (and on the heels of fellow high-profile MC Lil Wayne’s incarceration), “I’m Back” proves that Tip barely missed a beat while he was behind bars.
Over a powerful bounce beat care of TrackSlayerz, the King of the South spits a breathless four minutes of fire, declaring “No matter what they doing, they don’t do it like me.” The track also shouts out to fellow MCs Wayne, Gucci Maine and Lil Boosie, all of whom are currently serving prison sentences. The track is currently available for download at T.I.’s official Web site.
In recent interviews with MTV Tip talked about his upcoming album (which remains untitled for now) and hinted at the possibility of a tour once his sentence was complete and he was out of a halfway house. He also pledged that he would get right back to the business of being one of the hottest rappers in the game.
“As long as there is air in my esophagus, champ, I’mma keep going,” he said. “Nothing is gonna stop that. Nothing short of a 12 gauge is gonna stop me from doing what I do, champ. I just wanna say thank y’all and we gonna keep moving on.”
